![]() ![]() The interview guideline was arranged based on the result of the reading test to reconfirm the result of the reading test and to get an indepth data on the causes of students’ difficulties in reading comprehension. Another instrument was an interview guideline. ![]() The researcher used a reading test in multiple choice forms consisted of fourty numbers of questions included in Mandiri textbook published by Erlangga. The instruments of this study were reading test and interview guideline. ![]() The researcher took 50 students as the sample of this research. This research was designed based on the problems identified and arranged to adjust the main purpose of the research, so that the researcher employed descriptive method. The design of this research was a descriptive quantitative research. This research aimed to find out the students’ problems in answering reading comprehension questions of descriptive text in the “Mandiri” textbook published and the causes of students’ problems in answering reading comprehension questions of descriptive text in the “Mandiri” textbook published by Erlangga at SMPN 1 Kepahiang. Applied audio-visual media has increased the criteria for being very effective. The research and development steps consist of 10 stages which includes problem identification, data collection, product design (Initial Draft), expert validation, design improvement, small group trials, product revisions, large group trials, product revisions, and final production The results of the validation of media experts, material experts and language experts on the development of audio-visual media products for learning news texts for students at the State Junior High School 2 Lawang Kidul Tanjung Enim are in the very good category. This study used research and development methods. The design of audio-visual media for learning news text for students of SMP Negeri 2 Lawang Kidul Tanjung Enim which has been accepted by the experts is feasible to be tested. This study aims to determine and identify the development of audio-visual media for news text learning at SMP Negeri 2 Lawang Kidul Tanjung Enim, to find out and identify the results of the validation of audio-visual media for news texts learning for students of SMP Negeri 2 Lawang Kidul Tanjung Enim, and to find out and identify the results of news text learning for students of SMP Negeri 2 Lawang Kidul Tanjung Enim after the application of audio-visual media. The pedagogical implication for future research is that authors and readers of the poem both need logical critical thinking as well as skills or abilities to convey and receive the meaning of poetry. Hence, the readers (students of EFL) could enhance their abilities and comprehension of the poem. ![]() Student one and others (S1 up to S3) could find the meaning in every of poetry by analysing either literal words or similes and metaphorical words composed in "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. that author of the poetry was successful in conveying their meaning to the readers of EFL, which is shown by the results of students' work through the reader-response approach and stylistic approach. The twenty-one students who analysed the meaning of poetry were represented by student one and other students (S1-S3) in every line of the stanza of the poetry. The study was conducted with twenty-one participants who attended a literary class named Literary Criticism. It also investigates how students' English proficiency influences their ability to comprehend the poem. The present study examines whether an author of a poem's intention in writing the poem is successfully conveyed to English as a Foreign Language (EFL) readers. ![]()
